SURSYSTEM MAGAZINE 3R WORKSHOP AT THE SECRET DOOR TATTOO STUDIO

Last May first, I was invited by @barriocollectivebk to do the Sursystem 3R workshop at @thesecretdoornyc studio. It was beautiful working with the studio crew; it was such a group of talented people who were focused on the work process and made their own magazine without hesitation or complaint. 

I want to share pictures of the people who participated in it, plus the fanzine Expo we put together to show the participants the fantastic world of independent publishing.

All of them made a piece of artwork for the magazine content; also, the covers and back covers of the Sursystem 3R were made, decorated, and designed by the people who joined the workshop, too.

Special thanks to @adrianishungry for his work with the Riso print machine, to @loly.roots and @bubalu.electricttt for their support throughout the workshop. Also, many thanks to Holguer from @thesecretdoornyc for hosting the workshop, it is an amazing place full of talent and possibilities. We were 14 people working 5 hours straight, and nobody left the ship. I hope we will do the workshop again soon.

Hello everyone! This Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28, I will have the opportunity to participate in the Graphic Fair organized by @BarrioCollectivebk at @minimalnyc_tattoo If you are in the city, don't miss the opportunity to listen to good music, appreciate the work of local and international artists, and support them by buying their products. There will also be a block party, free food, and activities for attendees; Among the scheduled activities, I will hold, together with @adrianishungry, the conference Sound Map of Salsa Music in NYC. Don't buy to the corporations support the local and young vendors around you! 

SURSYSTEM 3R MAGAZINE IN LA FERIA BY BARRIO COLLECTIVE, BK

The last January 29, I was in Bushwick, BK, in a place called The Freya (@freyabrooklyn) selling the Sursystem 3R Magazine La Linterna edition (@magazinsursystem) for the first time in NYC, it was a very windy, snowy and cold day, the streets were cover by snow and everything was wet and slippy... I also brought the Salsa posters from La Linterna to try to sell them there. It was a vendor and party event organized by Barrio Collective BK (@barriocollectivebk), there were many young people selling different things, art, clothes, vegan food, stickers, hats... etc. While outside the place the weather was terrible, inside the vibe and the warm was amazing, the time dedicated to the vendors was full of people who bought everything from the vendors, also, the vendors were buying things between them, which created a micro-economy where everyone benefited. After 9PM the party started and many local DJs were playing good and animated music, it was a mix of music for all around the world. I was there until more or less 1AM, and the balance of the event was good for me, I know the party went until 4AM, but I can't stand it, I needed to carry many kinds of stuff and the snow was falling outside, ahead was a long trip waiting for me to go home.
